Prosperity
("When you are walking in the Word of God you will prosper and be in health." K. Copeland, Laws of Prosperity, p.17 "You give $1 for the Gospel's sake and $100 belongs to you." G. Copeland, God's Will is Prosperity, p.54)
But the Bible says:
I Timothy 6:5-8 "useless wrangling of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content."
I Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the beginning of all evil…”
They surely hate this verse because their gospel is about money, prosperity and riches.
Philippians 4:11-13 "Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need."
I Corinthians 4:11 "Even to the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten and homeless."
Acts 3:6 "Then Peter said, 'Silver and gold I do not have ...
James 2:5,6 "listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?
II Corinthians 8:13, 14 "For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened; but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lack - that there may be equality.
Romans 15:26 "For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem.
I Timothy 6:3-5 “Whoever teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the true words of over Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching of our religion is swollen with pride and knows nothing. He has an unhealthy desire to argue and quarrel about words, and brings on jealousy, disputes, insults, evils suspicions and constant arguments from people whose minds do not function and who no longer have the truth. They think that religion is away to become rich”
1Timothy 6:9 “But those who strive for riches fall into temptations and are caught in the trap of many foolish and harmful desires which pull them to ruin and destruction”.
You cannot truly give your allegiance to God while at the same time trusting and lusting after material gain. You cannot worship both God and mammon at the same time. (Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13)
The lust for wealth can never be satisfied by any success. (Ecclesiastes 5:10)
What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul? (Mk 6:36, Lk 9:25)

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to sincerely thank you for taking the time to expose the false prophets. I went to a Pentecostal church for 4 years. I have been away for 5 years but i am still ashamed of myself for the lack of discernment and not reading the Word of God to clarify all of the heresy's that are going on there. I was caught up in the emotionalism believing it was the Holy Spirit. The Pastor lives in a $650,000 home while the congregation is very low to middle class. The church has still not finished the addition which was supposed to have been completed 6 years ago although the Pastor's house is complete. It is the Pastors that are prosperous and the congregation who swallows their lies that become broke. It is so sad and I just thank the Lord he pulled me out of there.
Thank you for this site. I will refer others to it.
